DAY 3: The tale of two days.. in one
Today was another very early start, but it was worth it as it was Walibi World! While we did ask for a volunteer for todays blog it turned into another very long day, so we asked for some snippets from some of our groups instead to try and share an insight into their day.
The day started as the last did with rain while waiting on the coach, however some (mostly those at the back of the bus) made use of the calm to catch up on a bit of sleep before the excitement of Walibi world.
Lily, Chloe, Joe, Finn and George L
We had an amazing time, especially our ride on the choo choo train!
Sophie, Max, James F & Jack
We went to the shops at the front then got a selfie with the Walibi Mascot. Going through into the park we first ventured to the lazy river rapids, quite a funny experience. We felt like having a bit more thrill so went to platform 13 sprees. And having a great time on that we wanted more as adrenaline spurred us on. The sun came out (finally) and we went to condor and the slingshot. After Max and Sophie decided to try and be birds (see photo), then after failing miserably on some carnival games we decided to try our luck with the most thrilling ride, Goliath. A bit later, after one terrifying fun experience we then med to get the coach back to camp.
Cam, Dylan, Sam G, Aidan & Ash
We had an amazing day out, but the best part was watching Ben A & Buzz fearing for their life on the skydiving swing!
Tokyo, Morgan, Oli & Hollie
Today we realised that while rollercoasters were not our thing there was still lots to do at Walibi World. First we got some sweet churro balls from one of the food stands (see photo below), they were covered in icing sugar and tasted amazing! Next we went on the log flume, which luckily didn’t get us soaked like we imagined. We also went on the flying swings. Finally for a jock we drove the little ride-on rail cars and trundled our way along until our time was up. Today was very enjoyable and we would happily do it again :)
It was quite a long day by the time we got back, and aside from our cook team (Tent 3), the rest prepared for tent inspection, however it seems that while we all vacated the tent to go to Walibi world the ants decided to make themselves at home in a few explorers bags. So instead of inspection we had a full kit clean up and tidy up. I feel some lessons were learned, but everyone worked together to get their tents back in working order.
And after another tiring day we are back to in to see what tomorrow has in store, our activity is Aqua, our allocation is for Paddleboarding, Rafting, Sailing and City Cruise. Let’s do our Watersport’s team proud!
Good Night!
